ST. ANNA CHURCH

According to the story, a peasant called Křečka (Křenka) from Horšovský Týn ploughed out a miraculous statue of St. Anna from his field by the end of the 15th century, westwards from Horšovský Týn. In 1507 on this place, there was built a little plain wooden chapel.

The church on its own was probably built by Jiří and Volf of Ronsperk in 1511. In 1516, the church was finished and also sanctified. After the half of the 18th century it was rebuilt into the baroque style, during this time the vestry and the baroque vault were built. In the middle of the 19th century, the family of Trauttmansdorff had a family crypt built in the underground of the church. After the Second World War, this church was often attacked by vandals. That‘s why the original furnishings and decor were not preserved. Nowadays the church is completely closed.
